Pastor’s Monthly Message

Happy Spring my Friends,

I love Spring with all the flowers blooming and the weather getting warmer. People seem generally to be in a better mood and there is a renewed sense of hope. Which is exactly what our Easter season is all about.

Easter services were just lovely, and I really appreciated all the beautiful flowers that surrounded our altar. It just made the whole sanctuary smell wonderfully, although those of you with allergies may disagree 😊. It was just a joy to be able to spend it here at Reformation and I just continue to feel so blessed to be your Pastor.

As our Easter season comes to a close in the next few weeks, we begin to think about summertime and what services will look like this year. While the Worship and Music Committee hasn’t met yet to plan it out, we do know that we will be having outdoor services again once a month which I find so exciting. I love to be outdoors as often as I can be and being outdoors for worship just makes me feel more connected to God. I also am planning to do a sermon series at some point during the summer but haven’t decided where or when yet so watch for more information on that in the coming weeks.

I want to give a big thank you to Rick for being open to sharing a part of his story and his thoughts. It isn’t easy to get up in front of a group of people, especially when you aren’t used to it. I am looking for other volunteers who would like to be brave a share a piece of their story with the rest of the congregation. We are called to be witnesses to each other and I can think of no better way then for us to hear each other’s stories.

Also, thank you to all of you who have been able to attend bible study. We have had some wonderfully rich conversations that have ranged from funny to uncomfortable but has pushed us to think about things differently. If you haven’t been able to attend, please consider coming to one or more. It immediately follows worship and I keep it to only about an hour.

Lastly, in April we had a First Communion class that was attended by Myles, Cora and Liliana. It was a lot of fun and I swear that they could have taught the class with how smart they all were. I look forward to having some first Communions in the month of May and celebrating this wonderful milestone with them on their faith journey.

Many blessings to you all!

Pastor Jess
